Why are my videos uploading in the incorrect orientation?
When recording in the TORSH Talent mobile app, the orientation you have your device in when tapping the 'Record' button locks in for the duration of your recorded session, and it will not account for any adjustments in orientation made during the session. This is most likely the reason why some sessions do not upload in the intended orientation.
To prevent this issue, first rotate your device in the proper orientation before tapping the 'Record' button on your screen. Otherwise, your video will appear in the incorrect orientation.
Not to worry! If you need to rotate the orientation of a previously uploaded video, you may do so by logging into the website version of TORSH Talent and adjusting the uploaded video from there. Learn more via the Help Center article HERE .
Adjusting Default Screen Rotation Settings
In some instances, your mobile device's default screen rotation settings may be locked into a specific orientation, preventing you from adjusting the orientation of your video recording. If your device's screen is locked in portrait mode, for instance, your device will not be able to adjust to landscape mode while recording, even if you turn your device.
Before you record your video session, make sure that the screen rotation lock is turned off. This will allow you to orient your device into landscape mode and record your video successfully.
Disabling Rotation Lock on iOS:
Swipe down from the bottom of the screen to reveal the Control Center and tap the lock icon to unlock it if it is set to locked mode. If you have an iPad with a Side Switch, turn the Side Switch off to unlock your screen. Visit the Apple support page here which explains this in further detail.
Disabling Rotation Lock on Android:
Open your device settings and scroll to the Display. From there, select Auto-rotate screen to enable screen rotation. Please visit the Android website here for more information.
